A+ for Aerobics

Image

Aerobics are for every human being out there. Everyone needs some jogging, biking, swimming, or any kind of calisthenics that keeps the heart pumping. However, there are differences in the people who are aerobically fit, and those who are not. Those who do not do cardio workout regularly should be doing aerobic exercise a minimum of 2-3 times per week in order to show improvements. Fitness freaks at the high end of the aerobic scale need to exercise 6 times a week to achieve aerobic goals.

What is the most popular cardio machine that is always being used when you go to the gym? The treadmill. It is the most common machine used at a fitness center. Exercisers either walks, power walks, jogs, or runs to keep pace. When on the treadmill, one cannot base their work out based on the amount of calories that the machine SAYS you have burned, or even the distance that is reads. It is just that…a machine. The amount of calories you burn all depend on your body type, metabolism, and muscle mass. Everyone is different and burn calories at different rates, therefore, the number on the treadmill is most likely way off. It can be much less, or much more.

Stick with intervals when you are on the treadmill. It is the fastest and most effective way to lose calories. My suggestion is to walk for 3 minutes, then sprint for 1 minute, and keep repeating for about 20-26 minutes. Doing intervals will keep your heart working harder, which results in a higher rate of calories being burned.

Make sure you are always  doing smart cardio! Never work yourself to exhaustion, but work until you can’t work anymore!
